READING ROOM MAKE-OVER UPDATE!
Thanks to the PRLD  Board of Trustees, a generous donation by one of our patrons, and many smaller donations received throughout the year, a make-over of the back room is in progress. Formerly crowded and less functional than we'd like, these improvements are underway:
  • Remove and rearrange furniture to maximize space (done)
  • Install a wall-mounted TV and Blu-Ray player for movie screenings (done)
  • Hang light-blocking/cold-insulating drapes on the large window (done)
  • New furniture (done)
  • Lightweight folding tables (done)

If you have an idea for special programs, contact us by email, phone or in person.

Makerspace - NOW OPEN!

Picture
A makerspace is a collaborative work space inside a school, library or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high-tech to no-tech tools.

Our branch has the following items available to use in our branch:
  • MakeyMakey - turn everyday objects into touch pads for music, video games and more
  • Circuit Boards - learn how parallel and series circuits work
  • Makedo cardboard construction system - build with free/recycled materials
  • Edison programmable robots
  • Snap Circuits SC-300 Electronics Discovery Kit - contains over 60 Snap-Together parts to build over 300 exciting projects (Thanks to library patron John K. for this great donation!)
  • Engino, GoldieBlox, and Qubits building kits

We will also offer a variety of programs (active and passive) for all ages on a regular basis in our branch and we'll be venturing out in our community with these resources and activities as well.
If you have an idea for a program that involves "making" anything, please contact us by email or phone.  Check our calendar for updates!
