Aug. 17 - Where’d You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple – [comedic novel] Revolves around an agoraphobic architect and mother named Bernadette Fox, who goes missing prior to a family trip to Antarctica.
Sept. 21 – Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson – [memoir] Her long-suffering husband and sweet daughter help her uncover the surprising discovery that the most terribly human moments—the ones we want to pretend never happened—are the very same moments that make us the people we are today.
Oct. 19 – 1984 by George Orwell – [dystopian classic] Set in Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain), a province of the superstate Oceania in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, and public manipulation.

Dec. 7 (potluck, bring a dish to share!) – H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald – [grief memoir] Fierce and feral, her goshawk Mabel's temperament mirrors Helen's own state of grief after her father's death, and together raptor and human "discover the pain and beauty of being alive."
